Egad.

Today I did many interesting things around the house and feel really proud of myself.

I slept like a pig and woke up in the afternoon. Went grocery shopping with Nagalot and Poppadum to prepare for a tomorrow's good dinner. Gooey Gecko was kick-starting the major project at home while we shopped.

When we got home, I took a break and then helped Gooey Gecko and poppadum with giving the porch walls a white-wash - the major project. Gooey Gecko left shortly and I took over as the 'main guy'. Poppadum played the ássistant guy'role because it was almost evening time and Poppadum couldn't see clearly when the sunlight was dimming. Anyways we gave those walls our best! Walls look clean and nice now.

I trained myself to balance on the ladder while working. Now I'm no longer paranoid about tipping over at the top of the ladder. I found my balance........

I climbed that ladder a 100 times today for my next job after that painting project. Poppadum wanted new fluorescent bulbs in those porch lamps, so I helped with the ladder climbing part. I figured that if I fell, it would be easier for Poppadum to help me, rather than I help him. Then also I figured.. I didn't want to fall.

Well the first lamp went well (I have 2 porch lamps) but the 2nd had a little problem. The connector component from the lamp starter and the lamp bulb was loose and when I removed the old bulb, it came apart and dropped into many pieces on the floor. I was particularly irritated with this because I know that I'd be the only one who can solve the problem - Poppadum has inadequate eye-power to examine the parts and his fingers aren't as nimble (He's a Bloke! Blokes do big things, not details!).

So ok I tried to fix the parts back into the component, and fixed in the new bulb, flicked the switch, and............... nothing happened.

So ok I removed the bulb, took the component out and opened it, and tweaked its insides a little, fixed the component back, fixed the bulb back, flicked the switch again, and........... again nothing happened.

So now very sian already.. then I redid the whole procedure. Then when I flicked on the switch, the bulb lit dimly..... so I suspected that the starter was old and prolly faulty.

So then I took out bulb, took out component and opened it, replaced starter, put everything back, flicked the switch, and...... still the bulb lit dimly.

Egad I was pulling my hair out. So I realised its not the starter's fault. I suspected it was the poor connection in that busted component giving the problem. So I removed everything again, opened the component and carefully studied the blasted thing. I realised it was such a poor design but that's another complaint for another day. So I gave it a major tweaking session, taped the whole blasted component, and fixed it back and fixed the bulb back.

Flicked switch, and then "Let there be Light!"

I yelled "Hurrah!!" in my heart, but my flesh and my blood was exhausted so I didn't really do it. It's no joke ok the standing on a ladder takes many muscles to control your balance so you don't tip over like Kramer. Plus the ladder rungs are so painful to stand on! Plus earlier on already did the painting while on the ladder. My heels feel so abused now. Don't play play ar..

So I paint walls, climb ladders, fix lamps. Now if I just pulled up a pair of denim overalls then I'd be The Man. I think I'd made a helluva good bloke.

Time to rest.

I am not dead.

I am back to say that I am not dead, and neither did I give up on my little sacred space of infinite self-reflection. I've just recovered from a busy period at work, so now I'm starting to let loose and reflect on the rights and the wrongs, the birds and the bees. Hmm, that didn't sound right.

Nevertheless, I'd like to share with you on what I've learnt.

I'd learnt that, if.. u binge on Indian cuisine at a celebratory meal after a busy period, u will generally get sick, and can get very sick all rather suddenly. I'm telling you this from first-hand experience so yáll better believe it. Resultingly i didn't enjoy my weekend as I was nursing a headache, a really sore throat and a nose that was partially runny and partially blocked.

The horrors of a partially runny/blocked nose - I couldn't decide whether to blow it or not. The first option would leave me with an even worse headache, and the latter would leave me with... well, a very messy face. I had to go to bed with 2 tissues rolled up and stuck into each nostril.

Well I wouldn't want to bore you with the details.

So all in all, if u had a long 3 weeks with lots of OT done, please do your health a favour and eat food that is easily digestable, non-spicy and less oily. Lest you wanna end up like moi, la dee da.

O'yes, happy 1st of February, everyone!
Good nite!!
