Me Need Workstation. Need Bad!

I am, rather frequently, an impulsive animal. I mentioned previously I have a multitude of hobbies. Well I am the Jane-of-All-Trades and Mistress-of-None. I still go back to each one of them from time to time and each of my hobbies have begun vying for space to be present at my makeshift work table so I can pick them up and continue working on them from where I last took off.

De-clutter, de-clutter, de-cluttttter!

Scene from my make shift work table from my last major project. It's an old mahjong table! Huat ah..

I am wistfully wishing for a new work table. Wouldn't mind this baby from Ikea.
Love the idea that this work station can be closed up to keep out the dust. For craft work however, this table may be a little narrow so I'm still browsing. Still it doesn't resolve the issue of my cluttered-ness. I wonder if there really is a cure?

In the meantime, the mahjong table and my bedroom floor are my best resources. Can you tell I'm bravely defying the thought of procrastinating creative work through the excuse of having no proper work table?

Here's an example of how I am scanning Poppadum's craft work for administrative purposes. He's recently into lettering and borders. Isn't it neat?

I feel like I should write something

I've had a very busy life since the last week of Dec.
Mostly work, some home improvement stuff, very little social stuff.

It's less than ideal, but I think the busy-work part is tapering off now. Still have a busy 2-3 days to go, but with clenched fists and teeth I will make it.

Other plans for the near future is to spend more time doing spring cleaning. GooeyGecko suggested we do up the living room. Conceptually a modern and clean finish, with special request by Poppadum for it to be bright.

(Those ceiling to floor windows are to die for..)

With limited funding and resources Gooey says he will use his own and Poppadum's muscle powers to paint the place. I think with all these work-things I can at the most help out through generating brilliant Household McGuyver ideas. I spent several hours biting my nails today. mm, I meant I spent several nail-biting hours conceptualizing how to best utilise the green and white scheme to suit my living room. I prepared a sketch too.

I will be easy on the furniture and accessories - budget constraints. The main thing to do now is to rid off the antique furniture set that's taking up an unreasonable amount of space. I think we will all be happier sitting on the bare, clean floor.

Hope this all goes as planned, not like the numerous times where we gave up after half-hearted attempts to redo the living room.

And this is my first New Year's Resolution for 2011!

Cheers

Fooot Tabbing

Tabbing my foot as I eagerly anticipate the arrival of my beloved...

It's gotta have a name. All my stuff have names. When you name 'em you love them better.
I'm calling her Koollie. Still contemplating but Koollie sounds like a good deal. Anyone has better ideas?

O my darling, Ice Latte!

I wish I were swimming in a sea of McDeeDee's iced-latte.. Splashie splashie splash.. Idling my time away in a sea of iced-latte..

If iced-latte is not possible.. then let me swim in a sea of iced-Milo.. Ladee daa daar.. Gurgling up my sea of iced-Milo..

Then I would take 5, and get up to shore, and head for my lunch. A whooping serving of chocolate sundae.. Sundae on a Sunday would be fabulous.. But it'll do on a Saturday as well..

Let me drown in this decadence. Let me goooooooooooooooooooo!

Shower YOUR HEAD!!

Now, there's one thing that I reaaaaaaaaally cannot tolerate, and that is..

A Lousy Shower Head!!

The shower head in the photo already very good. Ya' know wat kinda shower head I have? It's really terrible.. It's.. It's.. It's.. so weak I can't even wash the shampoo out from my hair properly! Showering becomes a tedious and lengthy process, and I have to spend more than twice the time required for a normal shower. Every morning I walk out of the house looking like this!

Egad.

You know, how important it is for folks like you and me, me and you, to take a good shower? Showering is so beneficial, so essential, so faaaaaaabulous! And it's good for your body too!
Quoting EarthClinic:

Cold showers have the following positive effects:
1) Brings blood to the capillaries, therefore increasing circulation throughout the body.
2) Cleans the circulatory system.
3) Reduces blood pressure on internal organs.
4) Provides flushing for the organs and provides a new supply of blood.
5) Strengthens the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems.
6) Contracts the muscles to eliminate toxins and poisonous wastes.
7) Strengthens the mucous membranes, which help resist hay fever, allergies, colds, coughs.
I guess (1) and (2) are related points, a result from the skin's capillaries expanding and constricting. (3) and (4) sound a bit exaggerated. For the remaining points I dun really understand them, and I dunno if they are true or not, but I think they're cool.

However for ladies, EarthClinic also warns that:

"Cold showers should not be taken during a women's time of menstruation. A woman needs extra rest and gentleness during her menses.

"A lukewarm shower is recommended. Generally speaking, hot showers are not good as they tend to depress the various physiological systems of the body."

So, ya.

Shower, y'all!

I'm saving up for this baby, this is where I want to sanitize myself.

And I'm gonna replace that shower head, with this exciting 'un! It's supposed to have fabulous massage functions.

In the meanwhile.. I'm gonna go try and fix my shower head. Irks.
