Thursday is a Rhyme

Head is a ache, throat is a pain.
I take a medicine, panadol again?

2 days m.c., took only one.
So many meetings, totally not fun.

Work is a busy, emails aplenty
Hourly I receive, almost twenty.

Hair is a greasy, feet is a smelly
Work till my brain, turn to jelly.

Cough is a starting, blood is a tasting,
Looks like my blood cells are gone to wasting!

Happy Thursday.

Soldier Down!

Wow, totally knocked out today from a fever brought on by an infected throat. Back and neck and shoulders and hip and arms and thighs ached all over. Behaved like an invalid. Tried to work in the morning but had to visit the clinic for medical leave halfway coz of the sore throat and bodyaches.

Doctor gave me 2 days medical leave, but I think I'll try and go to work tmr if the bodyaches are gone and my temperature is ok. See I am such a dutiful employee. Boss please raise my pay!

I need to get well quickly and fight fight fight!
And now, time for more sleep..

Bob Geldof - I don't like Mondays

Gah!

Don't think about the work, think about the money.

"Don't think about the work, think about the money."

Quoting words of wisdom from Nagalot.

And now for something completely unrelated. Today Pushy and I went to watch/hear the vroom vroom at the F1 race site. We didn't buy tickets so we walked along the fenced area to catch a glimpse of the vroom vroom zipping by. I like the red ones. And by the way, the sound they make is totally not vroom vroom but they sound more like they are shrieking. Shrek with eye.

I was starving and we couldn't see much of anything from behind the fence, so Pushy suggested it was nourishment time. We combed the rows of quay-side shophouses and ended up at Riverwalk Tandoori. Buffet was still on at 9.45pm, the last grab for buffet food was 11pm. So buffet was what we had. My nourishment palette consisted of a pile of poppadums and mutton chunks and mushroom/spinach mix and bryani rice and tofu thing and chicken bhartar.

Very satisfying indeed. And I totally reconsumed the calories I burned at today's run.

Awesome.

Colour trial - smokey

Oct, Nov & Dec months are speckled with wedding dinners and other celebrations. I tested out brown eyeshadow today to see how it goes so I can decide if I wanted to present brown shadowed eyes to members of my social circle.

I'm half hearted about this look, don't really think it suits me. Just wanted to put up a picha and collect some feedback.

And by the way every time I put on make up I find great difficulty in hiding my eyebags. Have digitally removed the eyebags from the picha because I feel very embarrassed to show you my gigantic and coloured eyebags.

Anyone an eyebag pro around here?

Blog Piping Unclogged

These days I find myself actively finding topics to blog about. This I believe is a good habit for me so I can be more aware of things happening around me and pen it down (minus the pen) in words. Hope by doing this I can remember things better also, else Pushy will say I act like I suffer from brain damage.

People who don't blog usually say they have no time or have nothing interesting to blog about. I agree with the first point but disagree with the second. No regular human will have nothing to blog about. In fact each day and experience is a blogging opportunity. I can blog about the point that people claim they have nothing to blog about and make this go on for as long as the text box allows - and this is something to blog about.

I believe the reason people say they have nothing to blog about is because they are of the opinion that an entry is worth blogging only when you have nice pichas to show. Pichas of places you go, people you meet, stuff you buy. If there are no pichas to post means life is boring means no point blogging about it.

Well I never.. no doubt pichas play an important role in capturing attention, they play only a supporting role, illustrating the content in the blog.

Like this.

The thing is if you were just wanting to upload pichas to your blog, it'll be much simpler doing it via facebook, and you can reach out to a wider audience.

Thus don't be shy to post entries consisting of words, words and more words. You might actually come across being very intellectual to pen down (minus the pen) your thoughts and opinions, putting in a lot of detail showing the high level of thinking you have put in on the subject.

And so, may the world blog with love and joy. May each and every blogger learn to appreciate the wonders of language and communication.

Cranberry juice gives you bad breath

So I've been having some problems with my little pearlies these days, and spent quite a bit on dental visits. I'm now very paranoid about dental hygiene.

One thing is for sure - there is no getting away with not brushing your teeth at least twice per day. Especially so if you like to snack on Pringles, nuts and muruku.

Hey by the way if you haven't been introduced, here are some awfully cool teeth.

Their names are ickle and Lardee. Did you hear 'bout their fishing trip? Sounds like they had a lot of fun. Didn't manage to get any fish though, poor guys.

Earlier in the evening where I had been there was a jug of cranberry juice. Those who partook in it developed bad breath after that. Hm, I'm not suggesting that cranberry juice be boycott. I think we should drink cranberry juice with a straw and wash down the cranberry traces with water. Drinking sweet stuff with straws protect your teeth ya.. Sipping water after cranberry juice also helps prevent bad breath and washes away the sugared saliva which again protects teeth.

So there you have it. All 2 cents worth.
Ending off with another cute picha (actually a series of cute pichas). G'night.

Totally not worth my leave

Totally been spending half a day doing work while on leave. Compounding excitement over the upcoming Qtr end delivers many emails to my humble little inbox.

Please make it stop!
Either that or increase my pay!

=)))))

Beary Fascinating

I've been rather hooked on Nat Geo Wild over the past 2 weeks with Poppadum spending more time at home than before. Poppadum (Y) documentaries coz he is a dude and doesn't like dramas. He also doesn't like the cynical type of comedy I watch coz he is not a cynical person. So Poppadum watches sports and documentaries.

I like watching bears on Nat Geo Wild. Grizzly bears are my fav segment now, simply because these bears look so cute when they stand on their hinds.

Bears are omnivores and most bears eat lots of fruit and roots (like i do) and are only opportunistic carnivores - which I believe means they are lazy to hunt because hunting is a lot of work.

If bears were humans.... hibernation months will most likely be a national holiday. Cheers.

Whose line is it anyway V QI

Can't decide which is better for watching on the train on the way to work and back. QI is more informative but Whose line is more funny. I could watch these 2 all day everyday (for 1 day) and not get bored!

Only thing is I feel a little wistful when watching vids on train cause that will mean I'll have to watch it on my badly cracked phone. Looking at the phone makes me sad because I will always remember the joy and excitement it's pretty little AMOLED 16M display had brought me........

Alas, it has all become a distant memory!!

Romantic bath

Our bathroom light was out since Saturday night. It antagonized me the whole Sunday because I was holding out as much as I could to avoid bathing in the dark. Naturally I couldn't go to bed without a bath after a whole Sunday's worth of activities. So eventually I bathed in virtual darkness except for the hint of artificial night-light entering through the little gap by the door slightly left slightly ajar.

I'm no fan of darkness. I like being in bright places. I can sleep with lights on too. This little bathroom light, or the lack of it, has caused me a fair bit of inconvenience.

Returning from work today, I was distraught to learn the light remains inactive. I made a racket and Poppadum came to my rescue. Poppadum did a little magic and made the bathroom seemed like a cosy little place to hangout.

Battery operated push-button lights were hung up on 2 opposite walls and a torchlight hung above the sink to facilitate teeth-cleansing. The bathroom was glowing in a gentle, cheerful manner happy to greet me. I was, too, genuinely happy to see it with cute little lights hung up. It was a little like bathing by the moonlight. Only this was enclosed. With doors. And a shower. Not forgetting the toilet bowl.

I was so intrigued by the bathing-in-the-moonlight that I was happy to groom my brows afterwards. Hurt like hell it did.

Happy to have a new blog template and restore the life to this little space.

Time for bed.
