Baby Steps..

Writing this while I watch the Dancing Merengue Dog, vid recommended by Pushy. He is so darn good. And he really enjoys his job it's inspiring. I was referring to the Dog.

Also happening right now is my tum tum rum rum making noises. But I'm conciously fighting to NOT GIVE IN because I WILL HAVE NO SUPPER.

***********

Today marks a significant baby step towards a lofty dream.
I did my first dress pattern based on my own measurements. This with the help of a certain Mdm Lim who helped me take proper measurements. With the power of her notes and secret formulae in MY HANDS, I am bound to succeed!

It's exciting to see the work-in-progress creations of my classmates. In several weeks to come I'd be doing stuff they are doing now! How cool!

Some homework to do though. I have more patterns to sketch, and I have to get supplies from Chinatown. Such joyful homework, I'd do with glee!

Kard Kraft Killed Kooty

Today I realise it's TERRIBLY hard to make pop-out cards. The paper you select, the blade you use and the angle of fold are also TERRIBLY important.

And I'm TERRIBLE at the game.

After spending a back-breaking 3.5h with the result being incomplete, I reflect on myself and wonder if I should have given up at the point when the thread used in the design was tangled into a mess, or at the other point when I untangled the mess and it got tangled the very next moment.

But if I had given up then I'd havelost rescpet for myself!
If only I didn't have to wake up so early tomorrow, the world will be a better place.

Okay so the design is in, the materials I have. Only need to write the message and add it to the layout tomorrow. Take 5 and sleep first because I'm starving and want to sleep it off.

No supper no supper!

Drats, I'm going to be darn sleepy for tomorrow's dress making lesson!

XOXO

Early Poppa's Day

Poppa's Day arrives this Sunday, and for each Poppa's Day we usually get a nice meal outside together. Today we attacked Pu Tien at Nex. Think their service was not as good as during my last visit. Maybe the crowd was too overwhelming?

Food pictures.

Doggie-Bag It: Poser The Piratepup

My KoKo-Blanc allows me to read my ebooks downloaded from the library website and this to me is really cool.

The uncool part is that for HAWT ebook publications I am compelled to put my name on the waiting list because the book is ALWAYS borrowed! This to me, a major inconvenience - the Library people could consider getting more copies of the license on these HAWT ebooks.

When it comes to your turn on the waiting list, you receive an email to inform you the book has to be checked out within 3 days of receiving the email. By then I usually would have already maxed out my 4 book limit because I borrowed other things in place of the HAWT book! Plus I don't see an option on the Library website that allows me to return my book in advance...............

Often I find myself stuck in a situation where I'm entitled to borrow the book on my waiting list which I have long awaited for, but I can't borrow it within the stipulated deadline because I can't return existing books!

That sux.

Then after you actually get to borrow the HAWT book, you find that 3 weeks is not enough to complete reading your ebook. And you realise you have to undergo the entire painful waiting list process again.

That sux big time.

This is where I jump in. Today I will share with you a method that works with audio ebooks.

First, go to the App Market and download an app that does voice recording.
Second, turn on the voice recording app.
Third, turn on the audio ebook.
Fourth, let the audio ebook run its course.
Lastly, turn off the audio ebook and save the voice recording to your phone.

Taa-daa!
Now you can read the book with ease.

Now, don't go around telling people I told u this!

Etude housed me

Took the opportunity during lunch and the opportunity of Etude House's 20% storewide sale to grab of few of these.

Etude House Apricot Stick

Like the colour, love the flavours and LuRvE the texture.
Probably can do a little more about the coverage, but considering the price the Apricot stick series is a good thing you won't mind having more of.

Only Time Will Tell

Dark clouds looming above; will it rain or will it blow?
I don't yet see the silver line. Only time will tell.

Child picks up a marble; does he hide it or want to show?
He isn't making up his mind. Only time will tell.

Mystery shadows brushing by; they be monsters or guardians with bow?
I can't quite really identify. Only time will tell.

Time is strong and time is wise;
Time can see through all your lies.
I hope it opens both my eyes.
As only time can tell.

For your sake, I hope you are right. For mine, I believe I am.
We accept but don't agree with each other.
That makes us who we are and not another.

Good luck! Good night!

Heading Out?

"Sometimes while out walking, you forget the reason you went out in the first place."
Well I do that a lot. Pushy can very well vouch for this.

Today I paused a moment, looked around me and realised something was amiss. I gave it a little thought and then eventually remembered.

And then I forgot again for about 45min and then again I remembered.
So now I remember I'll get it on and going!

How about you, did you remember anything today?

I-N-S-O-M-N-I-A

Sigh this is bad.

I'm having a little trouble here. Have been unsleepable for the last several hours. Got up and did my laundry instead.

"Hello body-clock, you are a mess right now."

"Yeah.. well.. you can say that again.."

"Okay. Hello body-clock, you are a mess right now."

Da Pup is in Da House

"D-a-n-c-e!"

"Nej! Over my dead body!"

"D-A-N-C-E!"

"Eeeks!" *flaps arms*

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Pup is home in Sweltering Land. Gosh it feels so surreal to be back home. Routine stuff like bathing in my own toilet seems unfamiliar, even strange now. Think I'm a little jet-lagged too..

Tomorrow I work on pichas. Share cute vid before sleep - watched this 500 times over the comedy channel in Copenhagen.

Pup the Country Hopper

I recently had the opportunity to go on several trips and I took them all!

March for Taipei with my 5 other babes was a wicked snack-run-and-shop trip.
April for Kuala Lumpur with 3 cuties was another super shopping trip.

And the next BIG thing.. May for Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm!
All the major Scandinavian cities... Happening right this week-end!

Air fare courtesy of Pushy. I assume this would be my birthday gift from him? Memories make a splendid gift! Well done Pushy *pat on the back*, and very timely as well, because my pocket is barren now after the shopping holidays.

Gosh I'm so rumbly in my tumbly right now while typing..

Right now I'm half packed, prepared my medication for my cold and rash, and ready to rock! Even borrowed 2 Scandinavia holiday guides today.. Though a little late to read it end-to-end.

Can't wait for the end of Friday...

Thanks Pushy, Bee, Shinn.

XOXO

Paws-to-Ponder: Semanticism

Semanticism. This may be the wrong spelling.
I couldn't - for the life of me - find a noun for this adjective. Could the Enggrish-Teacher-In-Da-House point me with some pointers.

Anyways, semanticism. I picked this word from the 1000000 paged introduction to the book I'm poring over these days (all 21 of them). The book I refer to is The Analects of Confucius.

It can be inferred that Mr Ames took great care to establish the context in which Mr Confucius' wise sayings can be interpreted. It can also be inferred that he put great effort to defend the argument that Mr Confucius' seemingly random sentences may not be jibberish like the anti-supporters suggest.

Mr Ames, in penning his ideas however, hadn't realised I'm taking great pains to nurse this great pain in my temple indirectly caused by the painful length of his introduction text, which he took great pains to put together. To date, I have not gone on to the part where I could read the wise sayings said by Mr Confucius, as I still am continuing to pore over the last part of the introduction chapters.

I have, however, learnt the word 'semantic' from Mr Ames' introduction. I believe I'd seen this word for only about 10 times in the last hour. Because this word is really cool, I have made Semanticism my new hobby.

"It's amazing that people know that things will happen the way they will do before the events take place."

Now, that's a simple semantic thought I made. Hope you embrace and like it.

Paws-to-Ponder on a Looooooooong Monday: Inconsideration

This Monday feels like a Thursday.
Super duper busy and damp and my mood so dank. Office air-con not making it easy for me too - maybe he also has Monday booz.

Want to pull out this song from my previous entry to listen again.

Had this thought - the real inconsiderate people are those who think they are already being considerate, but still do stuff that are ultra inconsiderate. Inconsideration is so ingrained in their every day lives no words or actions can sway their decisions to continue with inconsiderate acts.

Wow, big-ass Inconsiderati!

Take away point from today's paws-to-ponder:
Bring up your child with manners, respect and consideration. Overlooking this in your child will cause him/her permanent (moral) brain damage and will cause you lifetime regret.

Doggie-Bag It: Bounce me the Doggie-Bag!

Bounced back today from my emo-yesterday and now feeling perkier. Two events that helped largely to pull me back into the light are what I will speak about today.

Previously I blogged on this adorable looking pair of teeth by Inhae Lee. That apparently sparked a wave of interest for Miss Lee's little creations that she decided to compile her short stories into a book!

My Milk Toof - The Adventures of Ickle and Lardee..
Is now available!

Being such a fan of Miss Lee's creations I had to GRAB a copy of course! As soon as I got wind of the book being published, I rang my secretary (let's call her 'Daisy') to arrange my flight to California so I could meet up with Miss Lee and get a copy of the book plus her autograph. I had just returned to Poserland for 2 days to tell this story.

And.. the above was the fake story.

The real story was - being a fan I successfully influenced my friends to coo-and-ahh over Ickle and Lardee. The biggest influencee was Shinn, who regularly kept herself updated with MyMilkToof issues. She spotted the ad for the book on Inhae Lee's brog and immediately reported it to me. I still remember it was past 11.50pm when I got her call (the next day was still a work-day, not weekend). Super hard-core follower. At that instant I was asked by Shinn to make a decision on whether or not I would be taking a copy.

"Yes I will" I said - for fear of Shinn's meticulous nagging that would have befallen me if I gave a response that fell short of her expectations. Shinn was seemingly satisfied with my reply for that moment and bade me goodbye so she could ring another unsuspecting soul.

My positive answer apparently didn't give me an immunity to Shinn's meticulous nagging. The next day I was made to confirm my decision first thing in the morning. Disoriented, without my coffee dose, I would have said 'Yes' to Shinn if she asked for my kidney that morning because I was way too delirious to meet head-on with Shinn's level of meticulous nagging. Fortunately she did not ask for that.

The next few moments went past in a blur that day, and the next thing I knew, Shinn completed the Amazon order and I had the softcopy invoice delivered to my inbox. Talk about efficiency.

The next 3 weeks was a gruelling wait for my precious MyMilkToof book. During this period I had to absolutely Kill time by hopping on a jet plane to Taipei and mope around the shopping malls so waiting would not have been so painful.

Now, now, now.. I have my book! Already browsed it only 500 times, back-to-front and front-to-back.

If I have convinced you, there are multiple options to buy this adorable book,
- Chronicle Books
- Amazon
- Barnes & Noble
- Borders
- Kinokuniya
- Kyobo
- Powells
- Urban Outfitters (huh?? why do they carry books.. o well.)

If you're not yet convinced, you can check out the intro vid by Inhae Lee.

Also there's the option to preview the book from Amazon, you can check out how the first few pages of the inside looks.

Disclaimer: I get no commission from this marketing pitch. I wish I did so you guys can make me rich.

And.. I'm running out of battery and need to type fast !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next thing that cheered me today was, a little chat with Genie. Genie speak wise words make Posey humble Puppy. My brain, mind and soul are now 'get set, ready to go' mode. Thanks Genie!

Chage&Aska Emo Recommend.

Emo-ing

Had a wonderful holiday in Formosa-land and was very perky up till Sunday - until I had to return to the daily grind on Monday.

Probably feeling unadjusted from the happy times so very snappy these days.

Don't touch me, I bite!

Speaking of biting, my Kittykat Pink neighbour came over yesterday night to play. Heard from Nagalot that Pinkie and her sisters came over earlier in the day and stole a packet of Friskies party pack and joined forces to rip it apart so they can share the little treasures inside.

So during the evening Pinkie came over again and made its way to my feet and instantly plopped on my feet lying on her side. I squatted and proceeded to tickle her belly so her hind paw would kick in the air (Kittykat gangtas look very hilarious when they do that). So her hind paw pawed around several times, and then she bit me.

No damage done, fortunately, but I stood up and raised my voice at her. Then Pinkie got up then sagely walked away. No manners.

After this sweet little story I will return to emo-ing for a little bit then doze off when appropriate. I have Chage&Aska's little tunes accompanying my mental space in the meantime. You should try Chage&Aska when you are emo-ing, good stuff. Also hope I won't be coughing too badly by tomorrow.

Manners, again.

Well, attitude is really a choice.

Summarised observation on Bad Manners - Not listening is rude. Not listening plus stating aloud 'i am not listening' doesn't make a rude guy any less rude. Also, not listening plus interrupting with self-made assumptions can be grouped with the two preceding categories of ill manners.

Bad manners is like an infectious rot that decays your positivity. Each time bad manners is used, the contagion is fed and unleashed, spilling out from your heart and saturating the air. It poisons the minds of you and the people around you, diffuses into each single capillary of the body, and gradually eats away at the stoic respect and trust that resides in each heart. Slowly, there is no more respect and no more trust and the heart becomes a shell. Where there is no more trust and respect to devour, the contagion spills out of the empty heart once again and poisons the mind of yet another unsuspecting soul.. in a vicious cycle.

Bad manners is a measure of self-centredness.
Time to take a deep breath, hold your tongue and loosen your fist to let go.

Hippo Adventures

The hippopotamus with no hip laid back staring blankly into the sky as the Sunday without a spot of sun went trickling by.

"Drats." Said the hippo, "it's a little disappointing innit?"
Hippo was planning a search for this thing people called "hip", a curious thing it was indeed.
"Oh well, this has got to wait then. I'm not having my hippo toes getting soggy and cold", she scowled as she climbed slowly back to her fluffy bed.

Help Japan + Hairy Affair

Today as you wake up in bed, remember across the globe there are people with no bed to sleep in.
As you sit down with your family and have a meal together, remember there are people still searching for their family.
When you look into your fridge for something refreshing to drink, remember there are people spending hours to look for clean water.
When you turn on your air-conditioner, remember people across the globe with hardly enough to wear to keep warm in the 5 degrees outdoors.
As you dial your friends to arrange for a meetup, remember that others are having no means of communication to people they love and care for.

Please please please, please help these unfortunate souls. Act now to help those in need. Please extend your hand to the residents of the disaster struck Japan.

**************************************************************************
Over the last 2 weeks I've contemplated on my new choice of hair colour and narrowed down to 2 options.

This
Or this

So I was thinking, to do the orange colour I'd have to visit the salon to get it done coz its hard to DIY bleached long hair, and a visit to the salon should set me back a minimum of 150 bucks for my hair length.

On the other hand if I did a black colour, I could get the DIY hair colour kit at less than 20 bucks from my neighbourhood pharmacist and it would be much easier to get an even colour. Plus this matches BoA's current hair colour! Plus I need to cut down the extra expenses so I can spend more on my holiday next weekend!

Woot. And now I'm one step closer to BoA! Now to work on the clothes, my weight, the aviator shades.. and pretty much everything else (I'm still a happy clam!)
